WWE Money in the Bank 2016 Live Results

Bubba breaks up the pin. Deadly Device by Dudleys on Kalisto, Cara breaks up the pin. D-Von accidentally clotheslines Bubba. Roll-up by Kalisto for a close 2. Kalisto avoids 3-D, D-Von sent outside. Salida Del Sol to Bubba.

Dragon Bomb by Cara gets Lucha Dragons the win.

Winners: Lucha Dragons by pinfall (Salida Del Sol/Dragon Bomb combo)

Lucha Dragons celebrate their win after.

Good tag match. Dudleys continue to be very fun on this latest run at making the new, young tag teams look like a million bucks. Revitalized win for Lucha Dragons as hopefully they get back into title contention after Kalisto’s underwhelming US Title run. Good stuff.

WWE Tag Team Titles – Fatal 4-Way: The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Big E) w/Xavier Woods (c’s) vs. The Club (Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson) vs. Enzo Amore and Big Cass vs. The Vaudevillains (Aiden English and Simon Gotch)

Anderson blind tags in as he stops the New Day’s Midnight Hour, sending Big E outside. Gallows with a big boot to Xavier Woods. Magic Killer by the Club on English, but Big E stops the pin. Midnight Hour on Anderson by New Day.

Kofi pins English to retain the titles.

Winners and STILL WWE Tag Team Champions: New Day by pinfall

New Day celebrate their title retention after as we see highlights of all the carnage in this match.

Super-fun opener with a real hot, frenetic pace to it. New Day retaining is the right call as there is no reason to take the titles off them anytime soon with their immense popularity. Vaudevillains eating the pin was also the right call as they are low team on the totem pole currently. Enzo and Cass and The Club lost nothing in defeat. Loved this, nice way to kick-off the PPV proper.

Backstage promo with Kevin Owens, Chris Jericho and Alberto Del Rio all bickering about who is gonna win the Money in the Bank Ladder Match later on tonight.

Dolph Ziggler vs. Baron Corbin

Corbin blocks the leaping DDT, Ziggler gets out of End of Days, finally hits the Superkick, but Corbin kicks out! Corbin stops Ziggler on the turnbuckles. Ziggler blocks a superplex, but Corbin crotches him.

End of Days gets Corbin the win.

Winner: Baron Corbin by pinfall (End of Days)

Solid match, Corbin put on a very good performance, in spite of the Vegas crowd chanting “Boring” during it. Ziggler is another gatekeeper at this point in his WWE tenure, but he did a good job again at making Corbin look great. I liked this.

  • We see Seth Rollins preparing backstage.

WWE Women’s Champion Charlotte and Dana Brooke vs. Natalya and Becky Lynch

Charlotte gets out of a double suplex, big boot to Lynch. Nattie by Nature by Natalya to Charlotte. Roll-up by Charlotte with her feet on the ropes for a close 2. Sharpshooter applied by Natalya, but Dana breaks it up. Dana sends Lynch into Natalya.

Natural Selection by Charlotte to Natalya for the win.

Winners: WWE Women’s Champion Charlotte and Dana Brooke by pinfall (Natural Selection)

Charlotte and Dana celebrate their win after. Lynch helps Natalya up, but Natalya attacks Lynch and leaves her lying. Natalya leaves the ring very upset.

Sheamus vs. Apollo Crews:

Crews blocks another Irish Curse, but Sheamus stops him on the turnbuckles. Super White Noise by Sheamus, but Crews kicks out! Sheamus can’t believe it!

Sheamus argues with the ref, allowing Crews to quickly roll up Sheamus in a crucifix for the win.

Winner: Apollo Crews by pinfall (Crucifix)

Crews celebrates after while Sheamus can’t believe he lost.

Decent match with a fun flash-pin ending with Sheamus being surprised by the upstart Crews. Nothing more to it that, it was fine.

We see Roman Reigns preparing backstage.

Video package on how we got to John Cena vs. AJ Styles, which is up next.

John Cena vs. AJ Styles

Styles goes for the Springboard 450, but Cena gets his knees up. Styles avoids another AA, Cena blocks the Styles Clash, Styles gets out of another AA, Cena avoids the Pele, Styles gets out of the STF, Cena avoids the Phenomenal Forearm, hits another AA, but the referee is knocked down in the process. The Club runs in and lays out Cena with the Magic Killer. Styles is placed on top of Cena.

Referee comes to and Styles pins Cena for the win.

Winner: AJ Styles by pinfall

Styles celebrates his win after.

Great match with an unneeded cheap finish with the Club interfering to give Styles the win, while protecting Cena at the same time. Cena is beyond protection at this point, so doing the ending that way doesn’t help Styles in the slightest. Shame such a masterful performance by both men had to be tarnished by timid booking.

Video package on the Money in the Bank Ladder match.

“Money in the Bank” Ladder Match: Dean Ambrose vs. Chris Jericho vs. Sami Zayn vs. Cesaro vs. Alberto Del Rio vs. Kevin Owens

Owens knocked down by Zayn. Jericho runs back up and nails Zayn. Ambrose stops Jericho and hits a Draping Dirty Deeds from the ladder. Zayn climbs up again, but Owens stops him. Powerbomb by Owens to Zayn onto the bridged ladder. Owens yells out, “its mine!” Ambrose and Owens fight on top of the ladder. Ambrose knocks Owens off the ladder.

Ambrose grabs the briefcase to win.

Winner of the Money in the Bank briefcase: Dean Ambrose

Ambrose celebrates his win after.

Just an insane match and performances by all 6 guys. Ambrose winning brings an interesting dynamic to the main event. Hats off to all 6 guys for a tremendous effort. Absolutely loved this.

WWE United States Title: Rusev w/Lana (c) vs. Titus O’Neil

Rusev has A Great Match Here On MIB . He sent Titus into the steps. Head kick by Rusev and the running superkick.

Accolade locked in, Titus taps out.

Winner and STILL WWE US Champion: Rusev by submission (The Accolade)

Rusev and Lana celebrate his title retention after as Rusev taunts Titus’ sons on the mic.

Epitome of a cool-down match, but it was fine. Feel bad for both men having to follow the Ladder Match, but they did the best they could.

Video package on how we got to the main event.

Main Event:

WWE World Title: Roman Reigns (c) vs. Seth Rollins

Reigns charges at Rollins outside, but Rollins sidesteps the Spear and Reigns goes crashing through the barricade! Doctors come out to check on Reigns. Rollins goes after Reigns, but Reigns stops the Pedigree and sends Rollins into the referee. Spear by Reigns, referee comes to, but Rollins kicks out! Reigns goes for another Spear, but Rollins counters it in mid-air with a Pedigree, but now its Reigns who kicks out!

Rollins with another Pedigree to win the title.
